SYNOPSIS:

A young girl goes to the movie theater, her place of comfort and joy, only to be haunted herself by the spirit of the theater. Starring Juliet Landau (Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Ed Wood, A Place Among The Dead) and Malcolm McDowell (A Clockwork Orange, Halloween). Every frame of this movie was hand drawn and edited on GIMP, this project took over 6 months to animate. We wanted to put a focus on the magic of the cinema juxtaposed to the difficult, stressful and often toxic environment of the world behind the scenes of media and entertainment. This piece is inspired by classic and traditional animation from around the world, in particular the work of Soviet animators such as Lev Atamanov and the artwork of Illustrators Stephen Gammell and Edward Gorey.
