Shockfest is proud to announce the return of the ANNUAL MISS SHOCKFEST competition for 2019, with a unique and exciting twist. This year's competition will be a cosplay contest where all dedicated cosplayers are invited to craft their own artistic costume with as much freedom and imagination as you can muster! The competition will consist of a judging session and catwalk display to take place on November 23rd at the SHOCKFEST TV AFTER PARTY, where you will get the chance to fully embody your favorite characters or original creations. Official confirmed competitors will be provided with ONE FREE GENERAL ADMISSION TICKET to Shockfest Film Festival. To take part in the competition, follow the rules and regulations listed below.
MISS SHOCKFEST COSPLAY CONTEST RULES AND REGULATIONS

All potential contestants must submit an application to SHOCKFESTFILMFESTIVAL@GMAIL.COM with the following information...​​

Short bio (a paragraph at least 4 sentences).

A photograph out of costume.

A photograph in your cosplay (preferably both front and back and in color)

A brief description of your cosplay character.

All contestants MUST be available for the pre-judging promo shoot at THE VENUE LOCATION on the designated date to be emailed to you after your application submission. Address, instructions and directions will be emailed to you following your application.

All contestants MUST show up to THE VAMPIRE'S BALL the previous night of the competition (NOV. 22nd) at the festival with an alternative vampire themed wardrobe. Contestants are free to use their imagination and encouraged to have fun in designing their own vampire costume for this block.

DURING THE CONTEST: The use of any sort of projectile at all is strictly prohibited. Nothing must leave your person while you are on the catwalk. Anyone who violates this rule may be disqualified from the competition and may be asked to leave the event space.

No flashpots, explosive devices, or similar special effects are to be used. Anyone who violates this rule may be disqualified from the competition and may be asked to leave the event space.

All prop weapons must conform to the Shockfest Weapons Policy, which is as follows: All weapons must be non-working and peace bonded. No functioning projectile weapons – including water pistols, silly-string guns, and ping-pong pistols. Bladed weapons must be cased or sheathed at all times. No clowning around or showing off in the common areas. Any weapon used in an offensive manner will be confiscated. Anyone who violates this rule may be disqualified from the competition and may be asked to leave the convention area. We expect you to use good judgment; with your help, we can continue to allow peace-bonded weapons.

Costumes must be self-contained.

Do not enter or exit the catwalk except at the designated points.

Each contestant may only enter one costume into competition.

Large elaborate costumes must be handled by the contestant and/or assistants the contestant brings to help. Shockfest will not be able to provide assistants.
